Summary: Humans discover a new element. It's a clean source of power that's found in all organic matter so they put it in everything, unknowingly opening the door for things from beyond earth to creep in.
2 young researchers think there's more to the element so they put it to the test. During an experiment with a robot, Memento, something else slips in. It tells Memento humans are tapping into the matter that gives life to all things, tasking itself + Memento with stopping that and rounding up the aliens
